Selena Woodson is Client Engineering Designer at IBM. Originally from a small town in Iowa, she now resides in Arizona. She completed her undergraduate degree in Communication Studies and Journalism at Iowa State University. Although her major didn’t directly align with her initial career, Selena’s passion for education led her to teach Kindergarten through 2nd grade and later serve as a Reading Specialist for grades K-6. Her enthusiasm for design, sparked by her work on her school’s website, eventually guided her transition into the tech industry. In August 2023, Selena earned a Master’s degree in User Experience Design with honors. She continues to blend her expertise in communication, education, and technology as she pursues a PhD in Human Systems Engineering, focusing on educational technologies. As a mother of a two-year-old, a full-time professional, and a dedicated student, Selena hopes to inspire others who are uncertain about their career paths. She believes that it's never too late to make a change and pursue your passions.
